Lights
Being a physical based ray tracing renderer, AMD Radeon ProRender treats lights differently to a non-ray tracing render engine. Where a rasterizing renderer only approximates the effects of lighting, AMD Radeon ProRender handles light as if it is coming from a physical light source, and traces the beams of light bouncing around the scene.
In AMD Radeon ProRender, you can set up various types of lighting to achieve the effect of real-world illumination with physically based lighting and shading effects.
There are several ways to illuminate a scene in AMD Radeon ProRender:
Radeon ProRender lights are available both in Maya Outliner and Light Editor. For more details on these tools, see the corresponding sections in the Maya documentation.
